Introduction to Communications Data and Cybercrime is an introductory-level course for anybody who will encounter communications data as part of their investigative operations. It provides an overview of the key legislation, concepts, technologies as well as an understanding of the Single Point of Contact (SPoC) role. The course consists of four chapters and should take approximately 60-90 minutes to complete.

The audience of this product encompasses the wider law enforcement community that will encounter communications data as part of their investigative operations. This includes police officers, intelligence analysts and operatives and communications data investigators (also referred to as a Single Point of Contact). Those organisations that have access to communications data under RIPA and RIPA (Scotland) include UK Policing, SOCA, CEOP and HMRC.
