In the light of the work currently being done across the country regarding assaults on Police Officers, now maybe a good time to promote the below petition.

It was started by Sarah Doyle, the widow of Neil Doyle who I’m sure you all remember was killed on a section night out last December. While the first part of the petition calls for a review to the sentences of Neil’s killers, it goes on to call for the Justice Secretary to review the guidelines and set minimum custodial sentences for individuals who attack or murder police officers. It also calls for it to be made compulsory for the crown prosecution service to charge in all cases of assaults against police officers
